|Title: Super Slow-Mo Lightning|
Concept: To the naked eye, this flash would appear to flicker: when captured at 7207 fps you see why
Detail: High Speed (7200 fps) video of a classic negative cloud-to-ground lightning flash. Stepped leaders emerge from the overhead cloud. As they approach the ground, one connects with an upward leader (not seen) and creates the initial return stroke. Dart leaders then create about a half dozen additional return strokes in the same channel, some of which exhibit continuing currents and m-components. Dark band is a windshield wiper. Note - the truck is moving at 70 mph! [Uprezed from raw images.] Credit: Tom Warner/WeatherVideoHD.TV
