|Title: Weather Diary 12 May 1916|
Concept: Record 15 minute rainfall.
Detail: One of the world's great rainfall events - a "frog choker"
unleashed 7.8 inches of rain in only 15 minutes upon Plumb Point,
Jamaica. At that rate if it continued, it would mean 31.2 inches per
hour or 748.8 inches per day (that's 62.4 feet of rain). Fortunately the
storm ended after only a quarter of an hour of one of the most intense
rains ever recorded.
