|Title: Weather Diary 2 July 1843|
Concept: When alligators fly.
Detail: Watch, out Captain Hook! it happened during a thunderstorm
in Charleston, SC on this date in l843. On Ansen Street to be
exact. During a violent thunderstorm, an alligator fell from the sky.
Now what, might you ask was an alligator doing descending from the
heavens7 Well, it is only conjecture, but highly plausible, that a
tornado associated with the thunderstorm had tracked over nearby swampy
areas and sucked one of the poor reptiles high into the clouds - only to
deposit it in the midst of civilization.
